Über Arirang

Arirang ist ein internationaler Fernsehsender aus Südkorea mit Nachrichten, Wirtschaft, Sport und Programmen über das moderne Korea. Das Projekt wurde 1996 von der südkoreanischen Regierung gegründet, der reguläre Sendebetrieb begann am 3. Februar 1997 unter dem Motto „Korea for the World, the World for Korea“.

Der Sender läuft rund um die Uhr und verbindet Nachrichten, Analysen, Wirtschaft, Sport und Sendungen über das Land. Zu den festen Titeln gehören „Arirang News“, „Arirang World“, „Arirang Sports M“, „Biz Today“ und „Korea Today“.

Arirang verbindet ein Nachrichtenformat mit einem kulturell-informativen Blick auf Südkorea. Eigentümer ist die Korea International Broadcasting Foundation. Arirang sendet in 1080i 16:9 und arbeitet international in sieben Sprachen, darunter Englisch, Chinesisch, Spanisch und Arabisch. Die Reichweite umfasst 188 Länder über Kabel- und Satellitennetze.
