Russkiy Illyuzion HD is a Russian thematic film channel focused on classic and modern Russian cinema. It began broadcasting on 1 July 2004, operates around the clock in Russian and has used 1080i 16:9 HDTV since 5 December 2018.
From 1 July 2004 to 5 December 2018, the channel broadcast in 576i 4:3 SDTV. Since October 2015, an international version of Russkiy Illyuzion has aired outside Russia.
The programming includes Russian and Soviet feature films and series. In 2009, the concept changed: the share of Soviet films decreased, while modern Russian and Ukrainian films became more prominent. The in-house programme list includes "Istorii za kadrom" (Stories Behind the Scenes).
Mikhail Georgiu has been the voice of the channel since 2024, while Yuriy Brezhnev voiced it from 2014 to 2021. The channel is owned by AO Telekompaniya STREAM, also known as Content-Union, and is available through digital terrestrial, cable, satellite and IPTV/OTT infrastructure from Russian and international operators that support HD broadcasting.
