About A2 HD
A2 HD is the HD version of the Russian movie channel A2. The channel operates in Russian around the clock, broadcasts in 1080i 16:9 (HDTV) and runs without advertising.
A2 focuses on melodramas, romantic comedies, historical dramas, detective stories, Russian series and international series. Weekdays feature scheduled series runs, while weekends add series marathons, documentaries, red-carpet reports, concerts by international stars and fashion programmes.
The HD version keeps the base channel's line-up. The main A2 channel began broadcasting in June 2011 as Amedia 2 and was renamed A2 on 7 November 2016 during the rebrand of Amedia's TV channels. The channel is owned by Amedia TV, with its main office in Moscow. A2 HD is distributed through Russian cable and digital television operators, as well as satellite networks with HD broadcasting.
