About Channel 5 HD
Channel 5 HD is the high-definition version of the British nationwide free-to-air TV channel Channel 5. It broadcasts in 1080i 16:9 (HDTV), runs around the clock in English, and follows the Channel 5 schedule as a nationwide free-to-air broadcaster in the United Kingdom.
The line-up includes 5 News bulletins, British, American and international films and series, entertainment shows, reality projects, documentary cycles about history, nature and social topics, sports broadcasts and educational programmes.
The main Channel 5 channel began broadcasting on 30 March 1997 and has been owned by Paramount Networks UK & Australia since 2014. Channel 5 HD keeps the news, films, series and entertainment formats of the main channel in high definition and is available through cable and satellite networks and IPTV/OTT platforms.
