About Индийское кино (Indiyskoye Kino)

Indiyskoye Kino is a Russian film channel dedicated to Indian cinema. The channel's history began on 10 May 2006, and broadcasting started on 1 July 2006 under the name Indiya TV. Since 15 August 2016, it has used the name Indiyskoye Kino and operates in Russian around the clock.

On air are classic Bollywood films, premieres of new films and series, and music and news programmes about Indian cinema. The channel's own projects include "Biografii kumirov" (Biographies of Idols), "Nedelya v Bollivude" (A Week in Bollywood), "Sekrety indiyskoy kukhni" (Secrets of Indian Cuisine), "Indiyskiy kaleydoskop" (Indian Kaleidoscope) and "Indiyskoye schastye" (Indian Happiness).

Themed screenings and Bollywood cycles run throughout the day. The channel airs in SDTV 576i 4:3 format. It is owned and founded by the Red Media holding, with Vladimir Shevardenidze serving as editor-in-chief in 2008. The headquarters are in Moscow at the Ostankino television centre. Indiyskoye Kino is distributed through digital terrestrial television, cable and satellite networks, as well as IPTV/OTT platforms of Russian operators.
