About FOX
FOX is the Russian localised version of the international entertainment TV channel Fox. The Russian FOX channel began broadcasting on 5 March 2008 in Russian and operated around the clock. The channel focused on series and entertainment formats. On 1 October 2022, FOX in Russia ceased broadcasting and was replaced by the Kineko channel.
On air were syndicated series and films from the international Fox network. The channel was part of a group of channels that included National Geographic, National Geographic Wild, Fox Life and BabyTV. The channel broadcast in 576i (SDTV) and 1080i (HDTV) formats.
The channel was owned by the international Fox network, which was acquired by The Walt Disney Company in 2019. FOX was distributed through digital terrestrial television, cable networks and satellite providers of Russian and international operators, as well as IPTV/OTT platforms. In addition to the Russian version, localised versions of Fox operated in other countries, including the Serbian Fox, which launched on 15 October 2012 and was renamed Star Channel on 1 October 2023.
