Sony Sci-Fi was a Russian cable and satellite channel specialising in science-fiction series and films. It began broadcasting on 21 December 2007 as AXN Sci-Fi, was rebranded as Sony Sci-Fi on 13 April 2013, and stopped broadcasting on 24 June 2021, when it was replaced by the Sci-Fi successor channel.
The channel operated in Russian around the clock and broadcast in CIS countries — Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Armenia. Regulars included "Stargate SG-1", "Battlestar Galactica", "The X-Files" and "Doctor Who".
The channel focused on mystery, science fiction and adventure. Until 5 October 2016, it used the slogan "A Different View of the World", followed by "Do You See This Too?". Artyom Tkachenko was the channel voice.
The technical broadcast format was 1080i HDTV, 16:9, with MPEG-4 codec. The channel was a pay TV service owned by Sony Pictures Television, and its headquarters were in Moscow. Sony Sci-Fi was distributed through digital terrestrial, cable and satellite networks, as well as IPTV/OTT platforms of Russian and international operators.
