CNN is a cable news television channel from the United States. The channel was founded on 1 June 1980 and was the first in the world to introduce a continuous 24-hour news format.
The line-up is built around news and analysis. Recurring programmes include "Anderson Cooper 360°", "The Lead with Jake Tapper", "The Situation Room", "Erin Burnett OutFront" and "CNN News Central". Special projects include "CNN Heroes", "CNN Films" and "CNN Special Report".
The channel uses the slogan "Go there". CNN is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery through the CNN Global division. The channel is headquartered in Atlanta, USA, and CNN's signal is distributed by satellite and available in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.
