Grozny is a regional and satellite television channel of the Chechen State Television and Radio Company Grozny, ChGTRK Grozny. Its round-the-clock schedule is broadcast in Chechen and Russian and focuses on the Chechen Republic, its public life, culture and news.
The programme includes regional and national news, socio-political shows, cultural cycles and entertainment formats. Notable projects include "Utro" (Morning), with music, humour, guests and segments for the start of the day, "Ozdangallin oramash" about Chechen culture, traditions and customs, "Svoya ferma" (Own Farm) about village life, and "Odnazhdy" (Once), with historical essays about battles, victories, defeats and their consequences.
The channel highlights Chechen national and cultural identity and presents the Chechen Republic beyond its borders. Broadcasting began on 23 March 2003, the day of the constitutional referendum in Chechnya. On 23 March 2006, by order of government chairman Ramzan Kadyrov, the channel received state status. In December 2008, satellite broadcasting was added to analogue terrestrial transmission, expanding reception to Russia, Western Europe, Asia and North Africa. Access is provided through Russian cable, satellite, terrestrial and IPTV/OTT networks.
