About viju Explore HD

viju Explore HD is the HD version of the documentary and entertainment channel about adventure, travel, extreme sports, unusual professions and people with uncommon experience. The HD version is broadcast in 1080i 16:9 HDTV.

The base channel went on air in 2003 under the name Viasat Explorer. After the 2014 MTG rebrand it became Viasat Explore, and later adopted the viju Explore name. Ownership rests with Modern Times Group and Viasat Russia.

The line-up includes popular-science and documentary programmes, including "Ekstremalnaya Rossiya" (Extreme Russia), "Professii budushchego" (Professions of the Future) and "Puteshestviya bez granits" (Travel without Borders). viju Explore HD is available through cable and satellite networks from Russian and international operators that support HD broadcasting.
