About Жара (Zhara)
Zhara is a Russian music television channel connected with the international Zhara music festival in Baku. Its round-the-clock Russian-language broadcast brings together Russian pop music, concert shows and festival performances.
The programme centres on concerts and gala editions from the Zhara festival, music-video selections, solo programmes and themed artist evenings. Performers featured in the schedule include Grigory Leps, Emin Agalarov, Stas Mikhailov, Philipp Kirkorov, Timati, Vladimir Presnyakov, Nyusha, Leonid Agutin, A-Studio, Nikolay Baskov, Valeriya, Polina Gagarina, Ani Lorak and other popular artists.
The channel’s music direction is built around concert cycles, holiday editions and video selections. Zhara is linked to the festival organised by Emin Agalarov, Grigory Leps and Sergey Kozhevnikov, the founder of Russkoye Radio and the Zolotoy Grammofon award.
