About Театр (Teatr)

Teatr is a Russian thematic television channel devoted to theatrical art. Its round-the-clock Russian-language broadcast is shown in Full HD and focuses on Russian and international theatre, poetry, drama and acting craft.

The schedule includes performances, theatre evenings, discussions, lectures, master classes, events and interviews. It is complemented by poetry cycles, drama selections, meetings with guests from the theatre world, conversations between colleagues, professional opinions, creative ideas and debates about contemporary theatre.

The channel combines archival and contemporary productions, educational lectures and reports from theatre events. Teatr has worked in television broadcasting for about ten years, supports several time zones from London to Sakhalin, and has its production centre in Moscow. Access is provided by subscription through cable, satellite, IPTV/OTT and other digital distribution channels.
