About Волга (Volga)
Volga is a Russian regional television channel of the Nizhny Novgorod Region with its own schedule. The channel broadcasts in Russian around the clock and remains one of the notable Nizhny Novgorod television companies.
The line-up includes information, educational and entertainment shows. The creative team produces more than 10 original programmes in different genres and formats: "Geroi VOLGI" (Heroes of VOLGA) about people of the region, "Modnyy NIZHNIY" (Fashionable NIZHNIY) about fashion and style in Nizhny Novgorod, "Bez galstuka" (Without a Tie) with interviews, "Telekabinet vracha" (TV Doctor’s Office) with medical consultations and "Sport-taym" (Sports Time) with regional sports reviews.
The schedule is based on daily broadcasts with a focus on local news and events of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The channel began broadcasting on 29 December 1992 on the initiative of the Nizhny Novgorod administration. The founder and owner is OOO Telekompaniya Volga, and the broadcast centre is located in Nizhny Novgorod. Volga is available through regional cable, satellite and IPTV/OTT networks.
