Russia 24 is a Russian federal news television channel. Broadcasting began on 1 July 2006 under the name "Vesti" (News). On 1 January 2010, the channel was rebranded and renamed "Russia-24".
Russia 24 covers news and analytical programmes. Recurring shows include "Vesti" (News), "Vesti Nedeli" (News of the Week) and "Vesti v Subbotu" (Saturday News), as well as the business programmes "Geoekonomika" (Geoeconomics), "Ekonomika" (Economics) and "Ekonomika. Kurs Dnya" (Economics: Course of the Day).
The channel is part of the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) and runs in a 24-hour news format. Russia 24 is available via digital terrestrial television, cable and satellite networks of Russian and international operators.
