About SVT2 HD (SVT2 HD Sweden)
SVT2 HD Sweden is the high-definition version of Sveriges Television's second public channel. SVT2 launched in 1969 and gradually became the calmer, more specialised part of the SVT line-up.
The SVT2 HD schedule gives more room to documentaries, culture, analysis, international affairs, educational programming, parliamentary and public issues.
The channel also shows programmes for national minorities and language groups, debates, cultural editions, reruns and special projects.
SVT2 HD complements the broader SVT1 with a more contextual line, where discussion, documentary work and public themes are central.
