Animal Planet is an international documentary television channel about wildlife. The channel began broadcasting in Russia on 1 October 1996.
Animal Planet shows films about animals in their natural habitat, programmes on environmental protection, stories about endangered species, and series about pets and people for whom wildlife is part of everyday life. The channel broadcasts in SD and HD formats.
Animal Planet is part of the Warner Bros. Discovery media group, formed after the merger of Discovery Communications and WarnerMedia. The channel is available through cable and satellite networks, as well as IPTV/OTT platforms of Russian and international operators.
