Karusel HD is the high-definition version of Karusel, the Russian children's television channel. The main channel began broadcasting on 27 December 2010 as a joint project of Channel One and VGTRK, and is included in Russia's first digital terrestrial television multiplex.
The channel is aimed at children and teenagers: cartoons, series, films, educational programmes and family blocks. The schedule regularly features Russian animated series such as "Smeshariki", "Masha and the Bear", "The Fixies", "Three Cats" and "The Barboskins", with a large share of in-house educational and entertainment projects.
Programme concepts are developed with child psychologists and educators. The Karusel HD TV guide shows animated series, learning formats, daytime cycles and calmer evening repeats in high definition.
