About Первый HD (Channel One Russia HD)
Channel One Russia HD is the HD version of Channel One Russia. The channel has been on air since 24 December 2012 in 1080i 16:9 and follows the main channel's programming.
The schedule includes the daily news bulletins "Vremya" (Time) and "Novosti" (News), current-affairs programmes, films, entertainment formats and sports broadcasts. Channel One Russia HD uses the slogan "Always in First Place".
The base channel Channel One Russia is one of the largest federal TV channels in Russia and has been on air since 1 April 1995. Konstantin Ernst is the general director.
Major shareholders include VTB (32.89%), Rosimushchestvo (26.11%) and the National Media Group (19.46%). Channel One Russia HD is available from major cable and satellite operators that support HD distribution.
