About Nickelodeon HD
Nickelodeon HD is the high-definition feed of the Russian localisation of the international Nickelodeon children's channel. The channel broadcast in 1080i 16:9 (HDTV) format and followed the main channel's schedule.
The main Nickelodeon Russia channel began 24-hour broadcasting in the CIS countries and the Baltic States on 15 November 1998. The line-up centred on animated series, sitcoms, reality shows and feature films for children and teenagers, including Nickelodeon's worldwide hits — "SpongeBob SquarePants", "Avatar: The Last Airbender", "iCarly" and others.
Programme dubbing was carried out in Moscow, with channel localisation handled by Metromedia International Group. The channel was part of the international Nickelodeon network owned by Paramount Global (formerly ViacomCBS), with the participation of the Russian partner Legacy Media.
In connection with Paramount's suspension of operations in Russia, Nickelodeon HD ceased broadcasting in Russia together with other Paramount channels on 28 April 2022. On 14 December 2022, Paramount completely halted the broadcasting of Nickelodeon Russia in other countries as well, replacing it with Nickelodeon Global.
