About SIC HD
SIC HD is the HD version of the Portuguese commercial channel SIC. SIC, Sociedade Independente de Comunicação, began broadcasting on 6 October 1992 and became the first private television channel in Portugal.
The channel belongs to the Impresa media group and works as a broad commercial channel with strong news and entertainment strands. Its schedule includes news, morning and daytime programmes, drama series, entertainment shows, reality formats, films, special projects and major television events.
In the SIC HD TV guide, news bulletins sit beside drama premieres, evening shows, films, repeats and special broadcasts. The HD version carries the broad character of the main SIC channel in high definition.
