About Солнце (Solntse)
Solntse is a Russian terrestrial children's TV channel that took over the slot of the former Disney channel on Russian television. Broadcasting began on 14 December 2022 in Russian.
The line-up centres on animation and family series for children and teenagers. Programming is built on licensed content from Russian and international producers with an emphasis on family viewing. Arzu Suleymanova has been the voice of Solntse since 2023. Technically, Solntse has used 576i 16:9 (SDTV) since 14 December 2022, with 720i 16:9 (HDTV) for online broadcasting.
The channel is owned by the Media-1 company, with OOO 7TV and OOO Mercury Content as its operators. Solntse is part of Russia's first digital terrestrial multiplex and is distributed through digital terrestrial television, cable networks and satellite providers of Russian and international operators, as well as through IPTV/OTT services.
