About MTV Portugal
MTV Portugal is the Portuguese version of the MTV television brand. The channel launched on 4 July 2003 for the local market, replacing the pan-European MTV channel in Portugal.
MTV Portugal grew out of MTV's music culture and later widened its schedule with pop culture, youth reality formats, entertainment shows, series and music events. The channel keeps the MTV tone of humour, relationships, urban culture, music awards and international formats.
The MTV Portugal TV guide lists music blocks, reality shows, series episodes, repeats of familiar formats and special editions linked to MTV awards and events. The schedule separates music hours, entertainment shows and pop-culture events while keeping the brand's recognisable character.
