Mama is a Russian TV channel about family life, motherhood and child development. It began broadcasting on 17 September 2007 as Mat i Ditya (Mother and Child), received its current name on 1 February 2015 and continued as a round-the-clock Russian-language channel.
The schedule brings together original programmes about pregnancy, early childhood, family routines, nutrition, upbringing and health. The Russian slogan means "For those who enjoy spending time with children", matching the channel's calm and practical editorial tone.
Mama is owned by VGTRK. Aleksandr Sharonov has been the channel voice since 2015, Vera Obolonkina is the general producer, and Natalya Rodikova is editor-in-chief. The channel broadcasts from Moscow and is carried through digital terrestrial television, cable, satellite and IPTV/OTT networks.
