About Channel 9
Channel 9, also known as Israel Plus, is an Israeli Russian-language nationwide television channel. It broadcasts in Russian and is closely tied to Israel’s Russian-speaking community, including immigrants from the former Soviet Union.
The schedule includes news about Israel and the world, current-affairs programmes, talk shows about the life of the Russian-speaking community, documentary strands about Jewish history and the State of Israel, cultural programmes, diaspora reports, and films and series from Russian, Soviet, Israeli and international production.
Channel 9 launched in February 2002 and became one of Israel’s main Russian-language television channels. It is owned by Israel 9 Channel Ltd, and its schedule connects Israeli public life, the Russian language and a cultural environment where Russian remains an everyday language.
