5 Kanal [RU+2] is a time-zone version of the federal channel 5 Kanal, with the schedule shifted two hours from Moscow time. It follows the same broadcast day for eastern Russian regions, so news, detective series, films and evening projects appear closer to local time.
The programming brings together news editions, documentary programmes, detective series, feature films, themed episodes and repeats. The base 5 Kanal traces its story to experimental television in Leningrad in 1938. In its modern federal form, the channel has been on air since 1 October 2006 and is part of National Media Group.
In the [RU+2] schedule, the two-hour shift is visible in morning news, daytime documentaries, evening series, film screenings and late repeats. This version is therefore best read through its TV guide, the order of editions and the current broadcast schedule.
