Channel One [RU+6] is a time-zone edition of Channel One Russia, with programming shifted six hours from Moscow time. It is intended for regions using UTC+9 local time, where news, evening programmes, series and major shows need to appear closer to familiar prime time.
Channel One programming includes the daily news bulletins "Vremya" (Time) and "Novosti" (News), current-affairs programmes, films, entertainment shows and sports broadcasts. The slogan "Always in First Place" remains part of the channel's public image.
The main Channel One has been on air since 1 April 1995 and ran under the name Public Russian Television, or ORT, until September 2002. Konstantin Ernst is the general director, and shareholders include VTB, Rosimushchestvo and National Media Group.
In the Channel One [RU+6] schedule, the six-hour shift is most visible in news bulletins, evening talk shows, series, sports broadcasts, films and large entertainment projects. The channel remains part of Channel One programming, while airtime is adapted for the eastern time zone.
