About Россия 1 (Rossiya 1)

Rossiya 1 [RU+6] is a time-zone edition of the federal channel Rossiya 1, with programming shifted six hours from Moscow time. It is intended for regions using UTC+9 local time, where news, premieres, evening programmes and series appear closer to familiar prime time.

Rossiya 1 programming includes the news bulletins "Vesti" (News) and "Vesti Nedeli" (News of the Week), current-affairs programmes, feature and documentary films, entertainment projects and sports broadcasts. The slogan "The country's main TV channel" underlines its federal role.

Rossiya 1 belongs to the VGTRK media holding. Its broadcast history goes back to 14 February 1956, while the current brand has been used since 1991. Anton Zlatopolsky is the channel's general director.

In the Rossiya 1 [RU+6] schedule, the six-hour shift is most visible in news bulletins, evening premieres, current-affairs programmes, series, films and sports broadcasts. The channel remains part of Rossiya 1 programming, while airtime is adapted for the eastern time zone.
