About Звезда (Zvezda)

Zvezda [RU+7] is a time-zone edition of the Russian public-patriotic channel Zvezda, with programming shifted seven hours from Moscow time. It is intended for regions using UTC+10 local time, where documentary cycles, films, current-affairs projects and evening programmes appear closer to local prime time.

Zvezda programming includes feature films, documentaries, programmes about the Russian Armed Forces, historical cycles, talk shows, popular-science projects and journalism. The slogan "A Reason to Watch" reflects the channel's interest in history, society, the army and educational themes.

The main channel began broadcasting on 20 February 2005 and is linked to the TV and Radio Company of the Russian Armed Forces. Its programming combines military history, social analysis, documentaries, cinema and conversation formats.

In the Zvezda [RU+7] schedule, the seven-hour shift is most visible in documentary premieres, evening films, current-affairs projects, historical cycles and repeats. The channel remains part of Zvezda programming, while airtime is adapted for the eastern time zone.
