About RTL HD
RTL HD is the HD version of Germany's RTL Television. The base channel began broadcasting on 2 January 1984 as RTL plus and received the RTL Television name on 31 October 1992. RTL's programme centre is in Cologne, and the channel is operated by RTL Television GmbH.
The schedule includes news, morning and daytime magazine formats, entertainment programmes, shows, series, sport and special editions. Recognizable RTL programmes include RTL aktuell, RTL Nachtjournal, Punkt 12 and Guten Morgen Deutschland.
The slogan "Mein RTL" reflects the channel's mainstream entertainment profile and its place in everyday German television. RTL HD broadcasts in 1080i and reaches the German-speaking market through digital terrestrial television, cable, satellite and IPTV networks.
