About RTL 2 HD
RTL 2 HD is the HD version of the German private entertainment channel RTL II. Its HD feed uses 1080i 16:9 (HDTV) and follows the schedule of the main RTL II channel, now branded as RTLZWEI.
RTL II combines reality shows, social docu-series, entertainment formats, films, drama series, animation and music programming. Recognisable titles include Frauentausch, Hartz und herzlich, Armes Deutschland, as well as the anime series Naruto, One Piece and Detective Conan.
The main RTL II channel began broadcasting on 6 March 1993 and became one of Germany's major private entertainment channels with a youth-oriented profile. It is part of RTL Deutschland, the German division of RTL Group. RTL 2 HD is available through cable, satellite, digital terrestrial and IPTV/OTT networks that carry the HD feed.
