About Arte HD

Arte HD is the HD version of the European Franco-German cultural TV channel Arte. The HD feed uses 1080i 16:9 (HDTV), with programming in German and French.

Arte's schedule focuses on documentaries, auteur cinema, European and world films, concerts, theatre, literature, visual arts, science, history and public affairs. The channel is known for themed evenings, cultural strands and projects by European journalists and filmmakers.

The main Arte channel began broadcasting on 30 May 1992 as a joint cultural project between Germany and France. It is operated by ARTE GEIE, headquartered in Strasbourg, with ARTE Deutschland, ARD, ZDF and ARTE France involved in the structure. Arte HD is available through cable, satellite, digital terrestrial and IPTV/OTT networks that support the HD feed.
