About RTL Nitro HD
RTL Nitro HD is the HD version of the German entertainment channel NITRO. The HD feed uses 1080i 16:9 (HDTV) and follows the schedule of the main channel, which previously used the RTL Nitro name.
NITRO focuses on crime and action series, adventure films, documentary strands about cars, technology and history, sports programming, wrestling and retro series. Its tone is more genre-driven than the broader entertainment schedules of RTL's general channels.
The main channel began broadcasting on 1 April 2012 under the name RTL Nitro, with the brand later shortened to NITRO. It is part of RTL Deutschland, the German division of RTL Group. RTL Nitro HD is available through cable, satellite, digital terrestrial and IPTV/OTT networks that support the HD feed.
