About A1 HD
A1 HD is the HD version of the Russian cable film channel A1, dedicated to classic world series and new premieres. The channel operates around the clock in Russian and broadcasts in 1080i 16:9 (HDTV) format.
The programme includes premium series from major international studios, award-winning films, documentary features and full-length animation. Its thematic profile ranges from action blockbusters and dark comedies to serious documentaries, series premieres and classic film retrospectives.
In the HD version, this programming profile remains in place: series, films, premieres and retrospectives continue to shape the schedule. The main A1 channel began broadcasting in July 2011 under the name Amedia 1 and was renamed A1 on 7 November 2016 as part of the rebranding of Amediya channels. The channel is owned by Amediya TV, whose main office is in Moscow. A1 HD is distributed through Russian cable and digital television operators, as well as satellite networks of Russian and international operators with HD support.
