M6 is a French nationwide private television channel from Groupe M6. It broadcasts in French and occupies a broad entertainment space between shows, series, films, magazine programmes, news bulletins and family formats.
M6 went on air on 1 March 1987 and became one of France's prominent private channels. Its schedule includes reality shows, cooking and home formats, music and entertainment projects, series, cinema, magazine programmes and news editions.
The channel is built around accessible mainstream television, where light entertainment, practical formats and evening prime time sit side by side. The M6 schedule changes by weekday: premieres, repeats, shows, series, films and special editions move through different blocks.
