CBBC HD is the high-definition version of the British children's TV channel CBBC. The channel is part of the British Broadcasting Corporation, broadcasts in 1080i 16:9 (HDTV) in English, and is aimed at school-age children from 6 to 12.
The schedule includes children's series, animated series, animation, educational programmes, nature and animal shows, programmes about school and teenage life, entertainment shows for children and adaptations of children's literature. CBBC combines in-house British projects with international children's series.
CBBC began independent broadcasting on 11 February 2002 after operating as a programming block on BBC One and BBC Two. CBBC HD keeps the children's and educational profile of the main channel in high definition and is available through digital terrestrial TV in the UK, cable and satellite networks, IPTV/OTT platforms and HD-capable services.
