Nostalgiya is a nationwide Russian 24-hour satellite TV channel built around archive Soviet and Russian television. The channel went on air on 4 November 2004 and operates in Russian.
Archive television from the 1960s through the 1990s fills the day: news bulletins, concerts, documentary films, variety shows and fragments of cult Soviet and post-Soviet TV formats. The channel presents itself as an archive channel and uses the slogan "A TV channel for those who have something to remember."
Nostalgiya broadcasts in 576i 4:3 (SDTV). It was founded by TV producer Vladimir Ananich together with editor-in-chief Mikhail Zhukov. Today Vladimir Ananich is general producer, Liliya Vyugina is editor-in-chief, and Yevgeniy Kochergin is the voice of the channel. Gazprom-Media is the owner. Nostalgiya is available through digital terrestrial television, cable and satellite networks.
