About ITV 2 HD
ITV 2 HD is the high-definition version of ITV2, the British entertainment channel in the ITV family. The channel broadcasts in 1080i 16:9 (HDTV), runs in English and is aimed at a younger audience than the main ITV service.
The schedule includes reality shows, comedy series, sitcoms, entertainment formats, films, talk shows and American series. ITV2's most recognisable programme is Love Island, which gave the channel a strong youth-entertainment identity, but the line-up is broader than a single format.
The main ITV2 channel began broadcasting on 7 December 1998 and is owned by the British media company ITV plc. The HD version keeps ITV2's entertainment profile and presents it in high definition. ITV 2 HD is distributed through digital terrestrial television, cable, satellite and IPTV/OTT networks that carry British ITV channels.
