CNN HD [UK] is the high-definition version of CNN for the UK schedule. CNN was founded by Ted Turner and began broadcasting on 1 June 1980, becoming one of the first television channels built around a continuous 24-hour news agenda.
The line-up includes news bulletins, breaking-news coverage, political interviews, analysis blocks, business updates and international reporting. Recognisable CNN formats include "The Lead with Jake Tapper," "Anderson Cooper 360°," "The Situation Room," "Erin Burnett OutFront" and "CNN 10."
The channel is known for live coverage of major global events and reporting during moments of crisis. The HD version keeps CNN's news profile: studio programmes, live reports, graphics and video packages remain part of the same international information line.
